“Gläntan” was a intercultural performing arts project that consisted of a short residency aimed to develop a musical theatre play for pre-school children. The play is about wonder at the power and beauty of nature and human diversity. The method for the artistic development work is largely improvisation and co-creation with both children, and with professional musicians and actors living in Region Blekinge. The theme of the play was inspired by the paintings and fairy tales of Elsa Beskow, in dialogue with the songs and games of the South American indigenous people Guarani Kaiowa. “Gläntan” was led by Camila Caputti a performing artist from Brasil who now resides permanently in Sweden, and has been professionally active in children's theatre in Brazil for almost 2 decades. A version in Portuguese was filmed as part of the project for participation in FIL - FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL INTERC MBIO DE LINGUAGENS 2022, a festival for children’s culture.
